Regain Access

Can’t log in to your WordPress site? I’ll get you back in

Being locked out of your own website is stressful, especially when there’s a business behind it. I recover access to your WordPress admin, give you back control and check there’s nothing suspicious behind the lockout.

How do you regain access to WordPress if you can’t log in?

You can regain access to WordPress by resetting the password via email, editing the database, creating an admin user via FTP or disabling the plugin that’s blocking the login. It’s best not to make changes blindly so you don’t make things worse. WP Sereno recovers access without losing data.

What’s happening to you

Situations I resolve

If any of these sound familiar, I can get you back in.

</rect>

The password doesn’t work

You can’t remember the password or it suddenly stopped working.

</rect>

The recovery email never arrives

You request a password reset and the email never shows up.

</circle>

Admin user deleted or changed

Your administrator user has disappeared or had its permissions removed.

</line></line>

“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page”

You can log in but WordPress won’t let you do anything.

Locked out after a hack

You’ve been shut out because the website was compromised.

</line>

You can’t even reach the login

Errors that stop you from even getting to the login screen.

How I fix it

From locked out to back in, step by step

  1. I assess the situation

    I check why you’re locked out: password, email, permissions, user or a bigger problem.

  2. I recover your access

    I safely reset or recreate your administrator user and get you back in.

  3. I check there’s no catch

    If the lockout came from a hack, I make sure there are no fake users or open doors left.

  4. I reinforce it so it doesn’t happen again

    Strong password, two-factor authentication and a working recovery email, so you never get locked out again.

    FAQ

    Questions about regaining access

    How do you regain access without the password?

    With access to the hosting or the database, the password can be reset or a new administrator created securely, without needing the old password.
</details>

    Is it safe to give you access?

    Yes. I handle your credentials confidentially and, when I’m done, you can change all the passwords so only you are in control.
</details>

    What if I got locked out because of a hack?

    As well as getting you back in, I check there are no fake users or backdoors left, and recommend a cleanup if needed.
</details>

    How long does it take you?

    Many cases are resolved quickly. I give you a timeframe as soon as I see the situation.
</details>

    How much does it cost?

    It depends on the case. I review it and give you a fixed price before starting.
</details>
